Dimapur, February 2 (MExN): The Legislators’ Forum on AIDS (LFA) organised one day advocacy programme on HIV & AIDS with Anderson Theological College and church leaders in partnership with Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (SBAK) Aizuto on January 31.
A press release stated here that during the programme, Dr Vinito L Chishi State Consultant LFA, gave a presentation on HIV/AIDS scenario of Nagaland and shared the concern on increasing number of HIV infection in the State. He made a presentation on the roles and responsibility of the Church on HIV/AIDS, and encouraged the students who are preparing to enter Christian Ministry, to make use of their leadership opportunity by taking positive initiatives in addressing the issues related to HIV/AIDS with regard to reducing stigma, discrimination and prevention aiming towards creating an AIDS free generation in the days to come.
Hukatoli from LFA shared about risk factor and social concern and responsibility with particular emphasis on its consequences, challenges and importance of responsible living. The LFA Support Staff at Cradle Ridge, Kohima also shared about her experiences with HIV positive children. Altogether, there were 132 church leaders and theological students. The Advocacy meeting was chaired by Inakhu Chishi, Youth Secretary SBAK – Aizuto with prayer.
